Most construction projects require permits; permits usually involve some form of professional review. We will act as your agent through the permit process.

Codes and Our Philosophy:

We believe in building codes. They not only help create the better project they protect structures and life. Jeff Payne was a board member of the Oregon Building Codes commission from 1996 through 2008 and is an advocate of building codes. We also are strong advocates of education including those on code changes, techniques and new materials entering the market. Attending 20 or more classes per year is our goal. Let us put our knowledge to work for you. Our creativity, enhanced by education, adds value to your design and budget.

Property Opinions & Consulting:

On an hourly consulting basis plus expenses (one hour minimum; expenses + 15%), we can make site condition opinion reports that include observations of structures, mechanical systems, landscaping, neighborhood and potential compliance risks, however such findings and opinions are not based upon or to be deemed as a professional, structural, legal or environmental assessment but they will be based upon 33 years of real estate experience.

Best Practices

Best practices” is a term that describes both philosophy and technique, and which has been endured by the National Association of Home Builders. Simply, in all instances best practices exceeds what is required by building codes and yields a better, more valuable and efficient product. In material cost, such methods can save as much as 8% or more. Though disposal fees likely will be significantly less the greatest savings may be realized in the longevity and performance of the structure. We study and constantly update ourselves with new “best practice” materials and methodology.
